A FESTIVAL WITH A MISSION

Voices for Animals has organized Vegan Roots Fest in Charlottesville, Va since 2017. Showcasing the people, non-profit organizations, and businesses that are transforming our community through veganism, the festival is designed to demonstrate how a better world is possible.

VEGAN ROOTS FEST’S VALUES: OUR ROOTS RUN DEEP

Our mission is simple but profound: the struggle towards nonviolence and the creation of a just and healthy world for both humans and animals. We ground all our efforts in the nonviolent philosophy of veganism and its unremitting resistance to systems of violence.

We actively resist racism, sexism, homophobia, classism, and other forms of violence against humans in our efforts to end violence against animals. Moreover, we work to demonstrate the deeply-rooted connections between violence against animals, humans, and the environment. We are working with one another to help create a healthy, joyful world for everyone!

We recognize that access to healthy foods is unjustly distributed in our community, and we are sensitive to this in our promotion of veganism as we work to ensure that everyone can obtain healthy foods.
